These weapons are essential for significantly boosting your attack power, making them a must-have if you aim to conquer the towers. Makeshift weapons share similar crafting requirements but become available at different levels within the Technology menu. These weapons can all be crafted at a Weapon Workbench and require the following materials:

Crafting Materials For All Makeshift Weapons
MaterialsHow To Obtain
IngotIngot can be made from ore using any furnace. In the early game, you’ll need a pickaxe to mine those large brown chunks of rocks scattered all over the map to collect ore. After hitting level 15, you can set up an Ore Mining Site and assign Pals with the Mining skill to it, and they’ll begin gathering ore for you.
High Quality Pal OilHigh Quality Pal Oil can be obtained by catching or defeating certain Pals, such as Dumud, Digtoise, or Relaxaurus. Dumud or Digtoise can be easily found near the Anubis Alpha Pal location in the desert region.
FiberFiber can be easily collected alongside wood from trees. You’ll need an axe to get fiber and wood from trees, but if you don’t have an axe, you can attack the trees with a weapon or a Pal skill to make them drop wood and fiber.

While all makeshift weapons need these items to be crafted, the required quantity is different. Furthermore, you’ll need Coarse Ammo to pair with all of these weapons.

Tip

Coarse Ammo can be dropped by Syndicate Thugs, or you can craft it yourself at a Weapon Workbench using 2x Ingot and 1x Gunpowder.

Note

You’ll need a Weapon Workbench to craft all these makeshift weapons and their ammo. The Weapon Workbench is unlocked at level 20 in the Technology menu for three Technology Points and requires these items to be built: 15x Ingot, 50x Wood, and 10x Nail.

Gunpowder becomes available at level 21 in the Technology tab and requires two Technology Points to unlock. To craft it, you’ll need Sulfur and Charcoal, which can be combined using a High-Quality Workbench.

Sulfur can be harvested from deposits found in the desert region, specifically near the Anubis Alpha Pal location. These deposits are easy to spot, appearing as large, bright yellow chunks. On the other hand, Charcoal can be produced by burning wood in any furnace, making it a readily accessible resource.

This combination makes crafting Gunpowder straightforward once you have the necessary materials and tools.

Makeshift Handgun

The Makeshift Handgun is an excellent early-game weapon, valued for its impressive raw firepower. It can fire up to six shots before requiring a reload, making it a reliable choice in intense encounters. While its range is somewhat limited, it remains highly effective at close to mid-range, providing a solid option for players seeking a versatile and powerful sidearm in the early stages of the game.

Tip

The Makeshift Handgun is a weapon that you’d want to keep in your inventory until you get a better handgun. This weapon can easily beat the Makeshift SMG in terms of utility and usefulness.

Makeshift SMG

The Makeshift SMG could be the first weapon you pick up in the game, offering a solid rate of fire to handle close-range encounters effectively. Its high damage output makes it great for quickly taking down enemies up close. However, it’s worth noting that this weapon is a resource hog—its rapid-fire nature can deplete your ammo supply in no time. Use it wisely, especially when resources are limited.

Tip

Despite a good rate of fire, this weapon’s accuracy during a spray is quite weak, and it’s best to switch to the Makeshift Assault Rifle or a better weapon, as soon as you get it.

Makeshift Shotgun

The Makeshift Shotgun is a powerful weapon for close-quarters combat, delivering high damage at point-blank range. However, it requires reloading after every shot, which can be a drawback in prolonged fights. Despite this limitation, it’s still a valuable option to keep in your inventory, especially when you need to quickly deal heavy damage to an enemy up close. Once the shot is fired, you can easily switch to a different weapon for continued combat.

Note

Even though you have to reload it after firing every shot, the damage this weapon deals is significant enough to make you want to keep it equipped.

Makeshift Assault Rifle

The Makeshift Assault Rifle is a powerful weapon that offers a balanced combination of rate of fire and firepower. It allows for sustained sprays with superior accuracy, making it more effective than the Makeshift SMG. Additionally, with a 15-round magazine, you can manage ammo usage more efficiently without the constant worry of running out too quickly. This makes it a reliable choice for both precision and sustained combat.

Note

The Makeshift Assault Rifle is worth keeping until you encounter a better assault weapon, and will likely be the MVP of any boss battles or towers you encounter in the early game.
