One of the key reasons the Helldivers 2 community holds Arrowhead in high regard is the studio’s commitment to listening to player feedback. While it’s impossible to implement every outlandish suggestion for new warbonds or mission types, the developers’ responsiveness has led to significant improvements. In fact, the game’s pivotal 60-day update plan, which effectively revitalized Helldivers 2, was a direct result of the studio taking fan input seriously.
Since the introduction of the Illuminate faction in the Omens of Tyranny update, the player base has reached record highs. However, with the Meridia black hole showing signs of instability, the stakes are about to get even higher. To help players prepare for the challenges ahead, a new Helldivers 2 warbond has been announced. Fans are already calling it the best one yet, largely due to the inclusion of a highly anticipated new stratagem — the portable Hellbomb, a feature that has been on players’ wish lists for quite some time.
Unleash Hell Wherever You Go
The highly anticipated Servants of Freedom Warbond is set to launch on February 6, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting additions to the game yet. This warbond features two impressive armor sets, a new variant of one of the game’s top-tier guns, a powerful seeker grenade, and the standout addition everyone’s been waiting for—the B-100 Portable Hellbomb.
Described as “a beacon of democratic truth in a convenient backpack format,” the B-100 Portable Hellbomb can be easily activated by you or a teammate. However, once triggered, it starts an unstoppable 10-second countdown, so make sure to drop the pack and clear the area quickly. Its devastating power and tactical versatility make it a game-changer on the battlefield.
The LAS-16 Sickle has long been a favorite primary weapon for many Helldivers, but the Servants of Freedom warbond now introduces its powerful successor—the LAS-17 Double-Edge Sickle. This overclocked variant delivers significantly higher damage, but with greater power comes greater risk. Its intense output can cause overheating, potentially harming the user if not handled carefully. After all, serving the cause of freedom often requires a bit of sacrifice.
The IE-3 Martyr and IE-12 Righteous medium armors not only give you the striking appearance of the Maccabian Janissaries from Warhammer 40,000 but also come with a powerful perk: upon death, your corpse detonates, dealing devastating damage to any nearby bugs, bots, or squids. Even in death, you remain a true servant of freedom.
Additionally, the warbond includes the G-50 Seeker, a drone-mounted grenade that follows you around, automatically targeting nearby enemies. The best part? It can also lock onto enemies you’ve manually pinged, making it a versatile tool for both offense and support.
